Fellowship Commission

“To build and foster a sense of family and community after and around Sunday church service."

Dance Like a Star

Learn the Fox Trot, Swing, Rumba, and more with this great event starting Sunday, April 13 from 3-4PM, meeting for 6 Sundays and ending on May 18. Fellow church members Gunnar and Eileen Johnson of the Gunnar Johnson Select School of Dancing, teachers extraordinaire, are donating their time. The fee for the classes will go to the Minister's Discretionary Fund. Classes will be held in Angela Hubley Hall. Couples, singles, and children age 5 and up are welcome. Babysitting may be provided depending on the number of attendees. Be sure to sign up on the Fellowship bulletin board. Checks ($45 per person, $90 per couple) should be written out to FCC Madison and given to Alison Hubley. Please write Minister's Discretionary Fund in the memo section.

Fellowship Bonfire

Come kick off the summer right with the season’s first bonfire on Saturday, May 17th @ 7:00pm.  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share. We will have s’mores for the kids! Jodie & Brook Jerzyk, 51 High Hill Circle in Madison, are hosting this exciting event. Be sure to sign up at coffee hour.

Tailgate Tag Sale

Forget eBay and Craig’s List – come sell your old stuff at the first FCC Tailgate Tag Sale, on Saturday, June 14th from 9:00am to 1:30pm. It’s a great way to get rid of your unwanted items, make some money and have some fun.  Remember, your old stuff may be valuable to someone else.  Save these items for this terrific new Fellowship event.  Permits will be on sale starting May 25th at coffee hour for $5.00 each.  (1 permit = 1 vehicle).  This will be a super event to help clean out your basement and enjoy fellowship with other members of our church.

Canoe Trip

The First Congregational Church of Madison needs you to be in a canoe, kayak, or other vessel on Sunday, August 24th @ 3:00 pm as the congregation ventures upstream again on the beautiful East River starting at Friends & Company at 3:00 p.m. The Reverend Chris Nichols will be onboard the flagship canoe. All participants should bring salads, side dishes, and/or desserts to share as the flotilla will stop at 4:15 and feast at the head of the river (at our usual spot). Fellowship will provide canoes, hot dogs, and marshmallows. This is the sixth FCC river flotilla since 1999, and Fleet Director Adam Hubley hopes that all veterans of previous trips will join the fleet and lend their expertise. All ages from infants to 100 are welcome. See Adam at coffee hour to reserve your canoe. If you have your own canoe, kayak, or life preserver, please bring them as we can always use more. Bring your own water bottles and sunscreen!

Nine to Dine

Sign up throughout March for new Nine to Dine groups! Nine to Dine is for all adults in our church, whether married, single, widowed, separated, or divorced. Those signing up will be placed in a group of nine people. The group leader will contact everyone to find a common date to meet for dinner at someone's home once a month in April, May and June. Each person brings part of the meal (appetizer, salad, vegetable, entree, dessert, bread, or beverages). You do not have to host it at your house. Nine to Dine is a good way to meet new friends and become better acquainted with people you already know. Please sign up on the bulletin board in Angela Hubley Hall or contact Alison Hubley at alisonhubley@aol.com.

Coffee Hour

In the past five years, coffee house has grown considerably. We often have over 50 people attend to enjoy fresh coffee, snacks and fellowship. We're running low on supplies and funds to sustain the larger groups now attending. Can you help us?

Here's how you can help:

1. Sign up to bring a treat (sign up sheets are on the tables) or

2. Put a cash donation in one of the baskets.
